It consisted of Rick Danko, Garth Hudson, Richard Manuel, and Robbie Robertson, all Canadian, and Levon Helm, an American. The Band's music combined elements of Americana, folk, rock, R&B, jazz and country, which influenced artists including George Harrison, Elton John, the Grateful Dead, Eric Clapton and Wilco.
